Telephone number verification

In the past our service was abused by many credit card thieves, people spoofing PayPal and eBay sites and other fraudsters. Despite our efforts to discover abusive accounts some still went undetected and due to many complaints our service was suspended numerous times for hosting these accounts.

As a part of our anti-fraud measures FormNut.com now requires each new member to provide and verify a valid phone number in order to successfully activate their account. This verifications provides us with a working, traceable telephone number. As a result, fraudsters are less likely to target our business.

How does phone verification work?

Upon logging into your account for the first time you will be asked to provide your phone number. Within a few minutes you will be called by our automated verification system which will give you a four digit access code, for example 1234. Enter the correct code into the "Enter access code" box and the phone verification is complete.

Can I use an account if I don't provide my phone number?

No. All new accounts are required to go through our phone number verification.

How much does it cost?

Phone number verification is free of charge for our customers, FormNut pays all fees associated with phone verification. It is not cheap, but we decided to implement it to help minimize the risk of abusing our accounts and protect you, our valued customers who abide by our terms of service. This is just one of our anti-fraud preventive steps.

Privacy

FormNut.com respects and protects your privacy. Your phone number will not be used for any other purpose rather than validating your control of the phone number and thus associating a legally-traceable number with your account.

In case of suspected fraud FormNut.com reserves the right to share your phone number and other information with any law enforcement agency (your local Police, FBI, Interpol and others).
